Why Use a Starcraft 2 Guide

Are you getting beat up on a regular basis playing Starcraft 2 on the Battle.net? Do you think that winning is more fun than losing? Here's a short story that might sound familiar.

Back in the day, Starcraft had just come out. Some of the guys and me bought the game and started a nightly war after work. There was four of us. Two against two. Things would get pretty heated. Even the next day at work there was a lot of trash talking. I didn't take it too serious....at first.

I was really bad at first. Honestly, I sucked. It got to the point that no one wanted me on their team. Humiliating. I would build up my forces and then watch helplessly as the other guys would swoop in and destroy everything I had. I was getting totally fed up.

Then some genius came out with a strategy guide. I mentioned it to my buddies but they kind of scoffed at the idea that I would need a book to help me. I thought "hey can't hurt" and got it anyway.

I got immediate results. I wasn't just flying by the seat of my pants. I was making informed choices and decisions. My buddies asked how I could improve that fast. They even thought I had some kind of hack. I kept it to myself. All is fare in war and this is war.

The Battle.net was in it's infancy back then and going through some growing pains, Lag and dropped games were common but it always improved. We were doing pretty good for a bunch of rednecks, winning games and having a blast with it. We were becoming a force to be reckoned with.

Blizzard was doing a hell of a job fixing things on the net. The games were running smooth with few drops. That's when the other problems started showing up. Loser hacks and cheats took over. There was no honor left there. It was just who had the newest cheat code. It sucked hard. We went back to private game mode. From there we stopped playing all together.

So when I heard about Starcraft 2 I started remembering the glory days. Maybe I'll give the guy's a call and see if they're buying. Oh yeah they'll be buying. Blizzard says it's not going to tolerate loser hack and cheats. We'll see.

I've been playing the new game and I'll tell you this. It's more in depth than the old version and I'm glad I already have a starcraft 2 guide to help me. Instead of the last man picked I'm the last man standing. So what's the moral?

If your game sucks get help. If you want the best possible help get a guide and use it. Get better faster. Winning is fun. Losing isn't.
